Cómo funciona la tender Williams del Blue Lagoon

En este vídeo encuentras todos los detalles para manejar la tender Williams del Blue Lagoon:

How works the tender Williams SportsJet from Blue Lagoon

1. Pre-Start Checklist & Engine Starting

  • Bilge Blower: Before starting the engine, press the bilge blower button for a few seconds to clear the air.
  • Safety Lanyard: Tie the safety lanyard securely around your leg.
  • Battery Key: Locate the battery key underneath the console and turn it to the horizontal position to turn it ON (vertical is OFF).
  • Neutral Position: Ensure the throttle lever is perfectly in neutral, otherwise the engine will refuse to start.
  • Ignition: Turn the ignition key just like you would in a car to start the engine.
2. Driving and Maneuvering
  • Direct Drive System: The Williams tender has a direct drive and no clutch, meaning it will instantly want to creep forward even when in neutral.
  • Finding Equilibrium: To stop the forward creep, you must hold the lever slightly off neutral to find a balanced equilibrium position.
  • Throttle: Push the lever forward to accelerate forward, and pull it back to go in reverse.
  • Dashboard: The console displays RPMs and speed in both mph and kph.
3. Engine Flushing Procedure (After Every Use)
  • CRITICAL RULE: Always start the engine BEFORE turning on the fresh water tap, and turn the water OFF before turning the engine OFF. Leaving the water running while the engine is off will over-pressurize and flood the engine.
  • Step 1: With the engine running in neutral, open the flushing point on the boat.
  • Step 2: Push a standard garden hose connector into the flushing point until it locks.
  • Step 3: Turn on the fresh water feed and allow it to run for a couple of minutes to flush salt out of the exhaust system.
  • Step 4: Turn the water tap OFF first, then immediately turn the engine OFF.
  • Step 5: Disconnect the hose by pushing the gray ring inwards.
4. Towing the Tender
  • Towing Valve: If you are towing the tender behind the main boat, you must turn the towing valve (the red handle) across to the OFF position. This prevents water from back-feeding and flooding the engine.
  • Normal Operation: For regular driving, the red handle must be in-line with the tender.
  • Safety Trick: When setting the valve to towing mode, loop the tender’s ignition key around the valve. This guarantees you will remember to open the valve back to the normal position before starting the engine again, which prevents the engine from overheating.
5. Fueling and General Maintenance
  • Fuel Type: Use normal Unleaded 95 gasoline.
  • Fuel Capacity: The tank holds exactly 42 liters.
  • Refueling: Lift the seat cushion forward to access the fuel tank cap.
  • Bilge Pump: If water gets into the bilge, use the manual bilge pump button on the console to drain it. Always lift the hatch after a trip (once the engine is cool) and sponge out any residual water to keep the bilge bone dry.
  • Navigation Lights: The tender uses removable light poles. Insert the short pole with port/starboard (red/green) lights at the front, and the longer pole behind the seat, then activate them using the dedicated button on the console
